Kenosha/Racine Scholarships
Carthage awards ten full-tuition scholarships as part of the Kenosha/Racine Scholarship program. The scholarship program is open to City of Kenosha and County of Racine residents. These scholarships are worth more than $145,000 each, making Carthage quite affordable.
The Kenosha/Racine Scholarships recognize the City of Kenosha’s agreement to lease land to Carthage for residence halls and parking as well as Carthage’s ongoing commitment to our neighbors in Racine County.
How to Apply
Candidates interested in the Kenosha/Racine Scholarship Program must complete the following no later than December 3:
- Submit an application for admission to Carthage and supporting materials (high school transcripts).
- Submit the Kenosha/Racine Scholarships Application. (Deadline: December 3, 2024)
- Submit a 250-word essay: Evaluate how a significant experience or achievement in your life has helped shape who you are today. (This is part of the online scholarship application.)
- Submit a list of all high school and community organizations and activities (including work) in which you have participated. (This is part of the online scholarship application.)
Application Review/Second Round
A Carthage scholarship committee will review your application and high school grades. Qualified applicants will be notified in late December. Successful candidates and their families will be invited to the second round of the Kenosha/Racine Scholarship Program, which will take place on the Carthage campus on Friday, January 24, 2025. During the second round, prospective Kenosha/Racine Scholars will complete an essay and have a conversation with Carthage faculty/staff. Participation is a requirement for consideration for the Kenosha/Racine Scholarships.
The Carthage commitment to scholars extends beyond the Kenosha/Racine Scholarships. Top students typically receive a substantial package of multiple non-need-based awards.
The Kenosha/Racine Scholarships incorporate all Carthage assistance. Scholarships and grants may be combined with federal and state grants, not to exceed full tuition. Carthage also offers additional scholarships. See our scholarship page for details.
